The requirement under the AS1851 Australian standards pressure testing(process called hydrostatic testing ) must be carried out on all portable fire extinguishers every five years( from the date of manufacture ) This is usually stamped on the base or neck of the cylinder.

If you have a fire extinguisher that has been discharged, even partially, it needs to be refilled.
We can refill these at these depots across Australia

Pressure Testing involves completely discharging the extinguisher (We have to empty it ) if the extinguisher passes pressure testing, we will then recharge it. If an extinguisher fails the hydro static pressure test it will need to be disposed correctly.A disposal charge may be incurred

Depending on the type of fire equipment submitted for pressure testing it is sometimes more economical to replace them.
It is generally cheaper to replace a dry chemical extinguisher, than it is to test & recharge it.

CO2 fire extinguisher cylinder is manufactured to with stand high pressure and generally is more expensive to replace so we reccomment pressure testing these type of extinguishers.
The test & recharge usually costs less than the cost To replace with a new CO2

For all air/water, Air/ foam, and wet chemical fire extinguishers, it may be economic to test pressure & recharge
rather than replace them with new cylinders

When testing, the fire extinguisher valve assembly is cleaned & inspected. Also checked is the o-ring and pressure gauge. There may be an extra charge if we need to replace any of these parts. all units recharged are tested in a water for leaks.
